"I will focus on progress, not perfection"
For my physical well-being, I would give it a rating of an 8. Why an 8? I am very good and strict about my nutrition. I started on the path of better nutrition before I start to my major of Nutrition Science. However, as for the last 2 not giving myself a 10 for optimal is because I have room for improvement in the physical fitness department. I so manage to get exercise in but not as much as I should or would like. I sometimes have a hard time fitting in quiet time for myself let alone a good workout.
Now for my spiritual well-being, I rate that as an 8 as well. I am not a religious person but spiritual. I like to think of myself as one with Mother Nature. Hence, my blog name. I feel spiritually and passionately about the beauty, that surrounds us every day. I take virtue in the simple pleasures of birds chirping in the morning to feeling the wind blow on my face and the sound of kids playing outside. As for not rating it a 10, I am still working on that. I know where I stand with my beliefs but I have a hard time understanding the ones that want to preach and judge me on mine. When being judged I have a hard time standing down and letting them “preach” to me. I have a hard time with hypocrites and my defenses go up when cornered.
Psychological well-being is something that I work on every day. Life has thrown me many challenging the past 3 years and they have tried me without a doubt. I try to use my spirituality to help conquer those ugly challenges but also I have my 4-year-old son that has been my rock and my strength. I rate myself a 7. Why, I am still working on that. I have room for improvement…
My physical goal is to make more time for things like Yoga and Pilates that I enjoy as well as weight training. My spiritual goal and to take more walks, listen to mother nature and absorb the invigorating pleasures and peace that I receive from the stretching of my muscles as I walk to the sound of life around me. My psychological goal, reach out to my friends. I will get past that I CAN NOT do everything on my own, that it is ok to ask others for help.
Yoga, Pilates, stretching of any kind will a great implementation to my life and will help me move forward. Spiritual walks and meditating will help guide me to forward. Talking and sharing with my trusted loved ones will help keep me open and teach me that I am not alone. These will all help guide me to my goal. To help, to learn, to heal.
Finished my relaxation exercise. Geez, I need to work on this more. Yes, this is one of my goals and I am aware and have every intention to work on this goal, I do know that. How do you get past the way people talk though? I have had no issues sitting back and following into relaxation with Dr. Cindy but something about this guy’s voice just does not draw me in. Quote me if I am wrong but is he not the same guy that talked in last units exercise? I am a little worried that each exercise we are to participate in will be the same guy. I sure hope he grows on me if that is the case. Any tips?

Hi Pam- Great post! I need to get better about my nutriton. Overall, it's OK- but not stellar! I have my junk food days, but they are less and less! Thanks for the great post.
ps- I love the fish! Have a great day.
Thank you Bridget! I do try my best in our home when it comes to nutrition. I do have fun making and trying new recipes and coming up with my own. I have been pretty lucky that our 4 year old son tries and likes things for the most part. I mean he gets looks at some of the stuff he eats from kids and adults but hey, he likes them and they are good for him!
I hope you enjoy your last day of the weekend! Thanks in the fishy's! They are VERY easy to take care of!
Thanks Pam for sharing like you I think I do pretty good in the nutrition department. I just recently bought a yoga DVD called womb yoga wellness and I like it. I will start here since it's been a while since I worked out on a regular basis. See, I work the grave yard shift and every since I have no motivationa for physical activity. Any tips?
Akim, since you work the graveyard shift I think your purchase of a yoga DVD is a great one! Yoga is low-impact and very relaxing while doing and I think those two things is just what you need in your situation. If you can manage enough time before you leave for work that can help you out while you are at work. Yoga maybe a low-impact workout but you feel so good afterwords. A lot of times you walk away smiling, at least I do. I love stretching so the good stretch I get from yoga always makes me feel good afterward. I do understand you need time to sleep so maybe trying it right before work will be a good start. If I think of any other tips I will shoot them your way! Good luck!
Hi Pam, first I want to say I love your page it is so relaxing looking. I want to go to a spa right now and have a hot stone message. LOl!
Anyway, my eating habits can be better. I am not a junk food person. I don't crave it at all. I do it a lot of fruit and veggies. With that said I still have much room for improvement. I am like you, the guy from the exercise does not make me want to fully relax and go to that place. I'll get to a place then turn around. I feel like he talks too much. I hope it gets better.
